Nicky Dowling and Niki France founded n2n communications in 1996.
Combined, they have around 30 years experience in the industry.

Nicky Dowling

A specialist in the converging information technology and communications market, Nicky has more than 15 years experience in public relations consultancy.

An advisor to senior management from both the corporate and technology sectors, she has managed programs for a range of clients including:

  • Macquarie Telecom
  • Cisco Systems

  • Booz.Allen & Hamilton
  • Unisys

Her expertise spans media relations, executive profiling, publicity to support government lobbying efforts, corporate positioning for publicly listed companies and powerful writing for a range of mediums.

Programs managed by Nicky have received awards from the Public Relations Industry Association (PRIA), The Australian Financial Review and the Australian Business Arts Foundation.

Before starting her own consultancy, Nicky was the National Group Manager - Technology, for Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, based in Sydney, Australia.

Under Nicky's direction, the technology group grew by more than 350 percent over 18 months.

In Melbourne, she worked with leading specialist consultancies including Stratcom Communique (part of the Fleishman Hillard global network).

During this time Nicky worked with companies such as Telstra, Shell Australia, ICI Australia, National Dairies and Southcorp Packaging.

Nicky has lectured in Public Relations Strategies and Management at Sydney's University of Technology (UTS); has a Bachelor of Arts (Public Relations) and a Bachelor of Social Science (Social and Environmental Planning) from RMIT.

She was awarded an academic scholarship from Queen's College, Melbourne University, and received the PRIA Victoria's Outstanding New Practitioner Award at the outset of her career.

Niki France

Niki has pursued a marketing communications/public relations career in the ICT industry that spans three continents and more than a decade and a half.

 

Working with C'level management, she has devised and executed communications strategies for companies such as:

  • 3Com
  • ACCPAC
  • Check Point Software Technologies
  • Ericsson
  • SAP
  • SSA Global
  • Websense

She is a specialist in business-to-business marketing communications, with particular expertise in media management, brand and message development, and both marketing and journalistic writing.

 

She is well-regarded for her 'low key' credibility, the ability to identify and fulfill media requirements, and the ability to stimulate media coverage for clients during a news drought.

 

Other strengths include: event management, partner/employee communications and marketing collateral development, as well as the recruitment and development of in-house marketing personnel.

 

Before co-founding n2n, Niki was the National Group Manager - Technology, for Edelman Public Relations Worldwide.

 

During her tenure, she doubled the client base of the already sizeable Australian technology division, and was responsible for developing the communications plans for a variety of major accounts, including: Unisys, NCR, Hayes Modems, QAD, Kyocera Mita, St George/Advance E-cash and United Telecommunications.

 

British by birth, Niki's overseas experience includes work with Avrett, Free and Ginsberg, a top advertising agency in New York, and Gamester Kenyon, a thriving journalist-based public relations consultancy in London.

 

After emigrating to Australia , Niki joined one of Asia Pacific's then leading technology marketing consultancies, Marketing Directions. As MD's senior Group Director, she assisted in the management of the consultancy, and was strategic director of some of the company's largest accounts.
